Peterborough has a great selection of cafés, ranging from atmospheric independent cafés to historic tea rooms. If you’re looking for a quick lunch stop, a quality cup of tea or an authentic Italian coffee, the city offers a wide range of places you can sit back and unwind. This is a map of pubs in the city centre close by the dance sites – not necessarily a list of recommendations but The Ostrich Inn in North Street has offered its courtyard (as per previous days of dance for local sides) should any musicians or sword /rapper teams wish to get together for a session!
There are a number of car parks around the city centre, some more expensive than others, so I’m suggesting Wirinna Car Park, Bishops Road, PE1 5AP (see maps, towards bottom right corner), that’s about a 8 minute walk from the centre and is one of the cheapest at circa £4 for the day, NOTE this is pay by PLASTIC, NO cash. It’s the big car park, not the smaller one(s) nearby, they’re a small mortgage…!! Queensgate has two multi-story car parks attached and another over the road near the rail station, they do come at multi-story rates, but its your choice.
Out of the Wirinna car park, head for town, you’ll see the Cathedral over to your right and the Lido on the left, follow the road (Lido on your left), see gardens on the right, see roundabout ahead, at the Pound Shop turn right and you’re a few minutes from the centre.
By Train. Out the station, over the gantry into Queensgate, through Queensgate, down a level, take a right (at the travel agents) into Cathedral Square.
By Bus. Up the escalator, turn right, through Queensgate, down a level, take a right (at travel agents) into Cathedral Sq.
